June 27th is PTSD Awareness Day. PTSD is a psychiatric disorder in which a person has a hard time getting past a traumatic event that he/she experienced.
May is Mental Health Awareness Month. It is really important to raise awareness not only in the month of May but also throughout the entire year as it is a very pressing issue that should not be taken lightly.
May is Borderline Personality Awareness Month. Borderline Personality Disorder is a disorder characterized by an unstable state of moods and behaviors.
May 9th is National Children's Mental Health Awareness Day. Mental health is not only present within teens and adults but also young children. We have to be mindful of this because so many of us neglect that many children all suffer from mental illnesses.
May 4-10 is screen free week. During this week people are encouraged to spend less time on technology and social media alike. A lot of mental health issues can sprout from social media. That is why it is important to distance ourselfs from technology/social media from time to time.
May 11-17 is National Prevention Week where there is an encouragement to raise awareness of drugs and substance abuse and its related disorders.
